My client seeks a Data Platform Manager with extensive experience to spearhead our data platform's evolution and expansion efforts. You'll be instrumental in shaping the product vision, roadmap, and growth avenues to ensure their data platforms not only meet but exceed user expectations while staying in line with our strategic objectives. As the Data Platform Manager, your role encompasses overseeing the entire life cycle of the data platforms, from inception to post-launch, fostering a collaborative and dynamic environment that encourages innovation and excellence
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Vision and Strategy:
- Develop a compelling data platform vision aligned with our company's overall data strategy and business objectives.
- Create a detailed roadmap for the evolution and enhancement of data platforms, encompassing technologies like Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Services, and Microsoft Data Warehouse.
- Stay abreast of emerging data technologies, trends, and competitor strategies to inform our platform's development.
Data Platform Development and Delivery:
- Lead the prioritization and planning of data platform features and development projects.
- Evaluate proposed features for their alignment with the platform strategy and potential business impact.
- Collaborate closely with data engineering teams to define platform requirements, specifications, and design patterns.
- Manage the platform backlog, prioritize tasks, and monitor progress toward release milestones.
Data Platform Architecture and Operations:
- Demonstrate expertise in data platform architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and security.
- Implement automation, governance, and operational processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and data quality.
- Define and enforce platform standards, guidelines, and best practices across different technologies.
- Ensure platform resilience, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Business and Stakeholder Management:
- Effectively communicate platform vision, roadmap, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
- Represent the platform team in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Gather and analyze user feedback to inform development decisions and address market needs.
- Track platform performance metrics to assess its impact on business outcomes and decision-making.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, showcasing success in platform development, delivery, and governance.
