Procurement Business Partner [12mth FTC] (Contract/Permanent)

Location: Glasgow, Scotland Country: UK Rate: Up to £52.5k per annum

Your new role
The key purpose of this role is to oversee the management of key contracts, strategic sourcing and business as usual procurement activities for the assigned Directorate with a view to maximising value for money. This will be achieved by ensuring the Procurement Policy is understood and followed by the key stakeholders within the business and that supplier performance management processes are put in place to promote and achieve this.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage and develop the relationships with stakeholders and suppliers within your Directorate and wider business, along with key legal services providers.
  • Govern compliance to the Procurement Policy across the contractual landscape for your respective function.
  • Monitor, track, expedite and where appropriate, implement variations to goods and service contracts.
  • Manage and mentor direct line reports (if applicable) with an aim to retain and develop these members of staff towards a successful succession plan.
  • Control and ensure the ongoing improvement in commercial terms for the company and deliverable outputs across the supply chain.
  • Evaluate and advise scope for new and improved contracts, and the development of internal processes, systems and management procedures.
  • Work with the key contract stakeholders and suppliers to develop focussed set of KPI's for the performance of the contract.
  • Assist in the direction of supply chain performance through on-going reviews of contract KPI's.
  • Participate in periodic Contract/Performance Reviews for your Contracts.
  • Create and own Business Plans for strategic sourcing/tendering opportunities, where appropriate, for contracts due to expire and areas of high spend which are not currently captured under a contract.
  • Assist in enhancing and implementing robust purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Continued supplier rationalisation and assist in developing new and existing supply chain relationships.
  • Continue to develop and manage the use of the organisation's Contract terms and condition templates.
  • Some travel within the UK will be expected as part of the role (mainly Scotland).

What you'll need to succeed
Educated to degree level in related field or equivalent. Ideally Chartered or working/willing to work towards being chartered member of CIPS. An excellent team player who excels in developing relationships with critical stakeholders.

Experience of end to end tendering process, managing commercial contracts in a public sector (ideally Utility Contracts Regulations) environment is essential. Highly articulate and analytical and proficient IT skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Desirable to have relevant qualifications/experience in Legal Contracts Management.
