IO Associates seeks a Stress Engineer for the Stevenage site. Join a global aerospace leader specializing in commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, defense, and space sectors. Responsibilities
- Define and validate strength and stiffness requirements as per project specifications.
- Conduct structural analysis to achieve optimal mass design meeting the defined requirements.
- Develop a detailed plan for structural testing to verify compliance with strength and stiffness targets.
- Monitor tests, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports to demonstrate adherence to requirements.
Skills Required
- Requires 5 years of pertinent experience.
- Proficient in utilizing both external and internal software tools.
- Possess a strong grasp of analysis techniques for predicting strength and stiffness in lightweight structures, encompassing classical hand analysis and computer methods like finite element analysis (FEA) and pre/post processing software.
- Understand the actual costs associated with different methods and tools, with experience in MS Office and MSC Nastran.
